At the heart of all of Simli’s activities are REFLECT learning circles. REFLECT is an adult education model in which learners determine their own curriculum and learning pace in order to combat illiteracy and marginality. Furthermore, these groups provide a forum for community members to discuss issues, exchange ideas and experiences and learn new skills. The meetings are led by community based facilitators who are trained by Simli in participatory rural appraisal (PRA) techniques. REFLECT acts as a community mobilization tool for social change. Simli also works in Agricultural Support, Health Education, Vocational and Skills training and Advocacy and Human Rights awareness. All of these areas are discussed and used as a basis for the REFLECT circles helping to reinforce community members learning.
